Wesley Chapel is a 6.1 square mile
unincorporated  census-designated place located at the southern border of
Pasco County near I-75 and I-275. Wesley Chapel is 23 miles and about 30
minutes in light traffic N-NE of Tampa. Originally called Double
Branch for the area’s twin creeks, the community was named for the the
Methodist Church that stood on the northwest corner of SR 54 and Boyette
Road. A popular nickname for the area was “Gatorville.”

The area is home to three popular malls including
the Shops at Wiregrass, 
Tampa Premium Outlets and The Grove on the northern boundary of the area.  

KRATE, a container park featuring a mix of retail
and restaurant properties, is under construction at the Grove. The facility
will have 94 shipping containers that have been converted into 54 individual
business units. The mix will be about 70% restaurants and 30% retail and will
also feature a stage with daily live entertainment, a dog park, children’s play
area and custom art.
